This partnership aims to provide Gitga’at members with career opportunities in the transportation sector, particularly in support of major infrastructure projects such as the Kitimat Liquid Natural Gas Project in British Columbia.
Gitga’at North Arm Transportation Northwest
A joint venture providing barge-based fuel and freight delivery, specialized marine transportation, and project support along the North Coast of BC. North Arm Transportation Ltd. is a comprehensive marine logistics provider based in British Columbia, specializing in fuel supply, freight handling, and marine services along the BC coast.
Gitga’at Waiward LP
Waiward Industrial LP is a leading Canadian industrial contractor specializing in steel fabrication, modular assembly, construction, and maintenance services. With over 50 years of experience, the company has established itself as one of Canada's largest and most trusted providers in the industrial sector. Waiward operates across Western Canada, serving various industries, including energy, petrochemical, refining, mining, and energy transmission.
Gitga’at Tetrad Insulation
Gitga’at Tetrad Insulation Ltd. is a joint venture established in 2020 between Tetrad Insulation Services and the Gitga’at Development Corporation. This partnership aims to deliver high-quality insulation services to clients in the Hartley Bay, Prince Rupert, Ridley Island, Kitimat, and Terrace regions of British Columbia. By combining Tetrad's industry expertise with Gitga’at's local knowledge and community engagement, the venture seeks to provide top-tier service while generating and retaining revenues within the local community and giving back to Indigenous groups.
Gitga’at NCS Fluid Handling Systems
Gitga’at NCS Fluid Handling Systems is a 100% Indigenous-owned enterprise based in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Established as a strategic partnership between the Gitga’at Development Corporation and NCS Fluid Handling Systems, this collaboration aims to provide comprehensive water management solutions while fostering economic opportunities for the Gitga’at First Nation.
Inline Group Inc.
Inline Group Inc. is a Canadian geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and surveying firm that has been serving clients across the country since its founding in 2012. Headquartered in Acheson, Alberta, Inline Group operates with a team of over 150 professionals and maintains a presence in multiple provinces, including British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Alberta.
Gitga’at FWS Projects Ltd.
A 51/49 partnership between Gitga’at Development Corporation and FWS, this company delivers industrial construction and infrastructure projects across BC. Recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Contractors and Best Managed Companies, it provides integrated services from design and engineering to construction and maintenance, with a strong record of collaboration on large-scale Indigenous projects.
Gitga'at Matrix Workforce Services Ltd.
Gitga’at Matrix Workforce Services Ltd. is a joint venture between the Gitga’at Development Corporation and Matrix Labour Leasing, established to address labor shortages in Northwest British Columbia. This partnership focuses on providing skilled trades, heavy equipment operators, and general laborers for major infrastructure projects in Prince Rupert, Terrace, and Kitimat. With over $100 billion in projected investments in the region, GMWS aims to meet the growing demand for a local, Indigenous workforce.
Gitga'at Chemco Ventures
Gitga’at Chemco Ventures Ltd. is a strategic joint venture between the Gitga’at First Nation and Chemco Group of Companies, established in 2019. This collaboration aims to create sustainable business and employment opportunities for the Gitga’at community in the Kitimat region of British Columbia.
Bailey Helicopters
Bailey Helicopters Ltd. is a leading helicopter service provider based in Fort Nelson, British Columbia. Established in 1989 with a single Bell 47 to service the North Helmut oilfields, the company has since expanded its operations across Northern British Columbia and Alberta. Today, Bailey Helicopters operates from multiple bases, including Fort St. John, Fort Nelson, Prince George, Quesnel, Terrace, and Calgary.
