Shaping the Future of Gitga’at Eco-Tourism: Community Engagement Sessions Announced

Gitga’at Nation and the Gitga’at Development Corporation are taking the next steps in building a sustainable and community-led eco-tourism initiative.
As part of this important process, a series of community engagement sessions will be held this August in Hartley Bay and Prince Rupert.
These sessions, facilitated by MNP, are designed to gather input from Gitga’at members, share updates, and ensure the development of eco-tourism in the territory reflects the values, vision, and priorities of the community.
Session Details:
Hartley BayDates: August 11th & 12th, 2025
Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: The Elder’s Room
Prince RupertDate: August 13th, 2025
Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Gitga’at Development Corporation Office
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Eco-tourism has the potential to create long-term, culturally respectful economic opportunities while protecting the environment and showcasing the unique identity of Gitga’at territory. These sessions are a key step in ensuring that the community is at the heart of this work.
